Arts Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and experienced Arts Teacher to join our school community. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching various art disciplines to students, fostering their artistic expression, and developing their critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

– Teach various art disciplines, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and photography
– Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, aligned with curriculum standards
– Encourage students’ artistic expression and creativity
– Foster critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation of artworks
– Develop students’ technical skills and artistic techniques
– Manage the art classroom, maintaining a safe and organized environment
– Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art with other subjects
– Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
– Develop and maintain relationships with local art organizations and galleries
– Organize art exhibitions and events
– Participate in staff development and school-wide initiatives

Requirements and Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, Art Education, or related field
– Teaching certification or license (e.g., B.Ed., M.Ed.)
– Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience in arts education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Strong knowledge of art history, theory, and techniques
– Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs
– Familiarity with curriculum design and development

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience teaching diverse age groups (elementary, middle, high school)
– Expertise in digital art software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
– Knowledge of art therapy and its applications
– Experience with art exhibitions and competitions
– Familiarity with state and national art education standards
– Experience with grant writing and fundraising
