Associate Professor of Psychology
Job Summary:
The Associate Professor of Psychology will teach, conduct research, and provide service to the department, college, and university. The ideal candidate will have a strong research background, teaching experience, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology, including introductory psychology, research methods, and specialty courses in area of expertise.
2. Research: Conduct research in area of expertise, publish scholarly articles, and secure external funding to support research endeavors.
3. Service: Provide service to the department, college, and university, including committee work, advising students, and participating in departmental meetings.
4. Mentoring: Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and academic pursuits.
5. Curriculum Development: Develop and revise curriculum to ensure that courses are current and relevant to the field of psychology.
Requirements:
1. Education: Ph.D. in Psychology or related field.
2. Experience: 6+ years of experience teaching and conducting research at the university level.
3. Research: Established research program with a strong publication record.
4. Teaching: Experience teaching a variety of courses in psychology.
5. Service: Experience providing service to the department, college, and university.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Area of Expertise: Expertise in one or more of the following areas: clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, neuroscience, or social psychology.
2. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
3. Grant Writing: Experience writing and securing external grants to support research endeavors.
