Job Title: Head of Curriculum
Reports to: Principal/Head of School
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Head of Curriculum to join our school community. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s curriculum. This is a key leadership role that requires a deep understanding of curriculum design, pedagogy, and educational leadership.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s curriculum, ensuring that it is aligned with the school’s mission, vision, and values.
2. Collaborate with teachers, department heads, and other stakeholders to design and implement curriculum programs that meet the needs of all students.
3. Provide leadership and guidance to teachers on curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment practices.
4. Develop and manage the school’s curriculum budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support curriculum development and implementation.
5. Evaluate the effectiveness of the school’s curriculum programs, using data and research to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including universities, educational institutions, and industry partners, to stay up-to-date with best practices in curriculum design and implementation.
7. Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers, department heads, and other staff members to support their professional growth and development.
8. Contribute to the development of the school’s strategic plan, ensuring that curriculum development and implementation are aligned with the school’s overall goals and objectives.
Requirements:
1. Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
2. Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a leadership role.
3. Strong knowledge of curriculum design, pedagogy, and educational leadership.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
5. Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including teachers, students, parents, and community members.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and research to inform decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. in Education or a related field.
2. Experience as a department head or curriculum leader.
3. Familiarity with curriculum design and implementation frameworks, such as Understanding by Design (UbD) or the Curriculum Design Framework.
4. Experience with educational technology, including learning management systems and online learning platforms.
5. Strong knowledge of educational research and best practices in teaching and learning.
