Chemistry Teacher

Job Summary:

The Chemistry Teacher is responsible for teaching chemistry courses to high school or college students. The teacher will develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide support and guidance to students.

Key Responsibilities:

– Teach chemistry courses to high school or college students, including lectures, labs, and discussions.
– Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and national standards.
– Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, and lab reports.
– Provide support and guidance to students, including one-on-one tutoring and advising.
– Develop and maintain a safe and well-organized laboratory environment.
– Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies.
– Stay current with developments in the field of chemistry and incorporate new ideas and technologies into teaching practices.

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
– Teaching certification or license in Chemistry or a related field.
– At least 2-3 years of experience teaching chemistry at the high school or college level.
– Strong knowledge of chemistry concepts and principles.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills.
– Ability to work with diverse populations, including students, parents, and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
– Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
– Knowledge of educational technology, including learning management systems and online resources.
– Experience with project-based learning and inquiry-based instruction.
– Certification as a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) or a Certified Chemistry Teacher (CCT).
