Assistant Professor
Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position that involves teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop and maintain an active research program, and participate in departmental, college, and university service.
Key Responsibilities:
– Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the department, including lectures, discussions, and labs.
– Develop and maintain an active research program, including publishing scholarly articles, presenting at conferences, and securing external funding.
– Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including thesis and dissertation supervision.
– Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work, curriculum development, and community outreach.
– Stay current with developments in the field and incorporate new ideas and technologies into teaching and research practices.
Requirements:
– Ph.D. in the relevant field (e.g., computer science, engineering, mathematics).
– Strong research background and potential for publication in top-tier conferences and journals.
– Excellent teaching and communication skills.
– Ability to work with diverse populations, including students, colleagues, and community partners.
– Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Postdoctoral research experience.
– Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
– Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
– Knowledge of educational technology, including learning management systems and online resources.
– Certification as a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) or a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP).
