Lecturer in Mathematics
Job Summary:
The Lecturer in Mathematics is a full-time faculty position that involves teaching mathematics courses to undergraduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of mathematics courses, develop and implement engaging lesson plans, and participate in departmental service.
Key Responsibilities:
– Teach undergraduate mathematics courses, including lectures, tutorials, and labs.
– Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with departmental and institutional goals.
– Assess student progress and provide feedback on assignments and exams.
– Participate in departmental service, including committee work, curriculum development, and student advising.
– Stay current with developments in mathematics education and incorporate new ideas and technologies into teaching practices.
Requirements:
– Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field.
– Strong teaching background and potential for excellence in teaching.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work with diverse populations, including students, colleagues, and community partners.
– Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field.
– Experience teaching mathematics courses at the undergraduate level.
– Knowledge of mathematics education research and best practices.
– Experience with educational technology, including learning management systems and online resources.
– Certification as a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) or a Certified Mathematics Teacher (CMT).
