Transport Officer

Job Summary:

The Transport Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating the transportation services of an organization, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people, goods, and equipment.

*Key Responsibilities:

1. Transportation Management: Plan, coordinate, and manage the transportation services of the organization, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching.
2. Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance and management of the organization’s fleet of vehicles, including scheduling maintenance, managing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
3. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all transportation operations are conducted in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
4. Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage the transportation budget, controlling costs and ensuring that transportation services are delivered within budget.
5. Communication and Liaison: Communicate and liaise with stakeholders, including staff, management, and external partners, to ensure that transportation services meet their needs and expectations.
6. Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans, ensuring that the organization is prepared to respond to transportation-related emergencies.
7. Reporting and Analytics: Prepare and submit reports and analytics on transportation operations, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.

Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as transportation management, logistics, or business administration.
2. Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in transportation management, logistics, or a related field.
3. Certifications: Certifications in transportation management, such as the Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) designation.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
5. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and develop solutions to transportation-related challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in Fleet Management: Experience in managing and maintaining a fleet of vehicles.
2. Knowledge of Transportation Regulations: Knowledge of relevant transportation regulations, including safety and compliance requirements.
3. Experience with Transportation Management Systems: Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and other transportation-related software.
4. Certifications in Safety and Compliance: Certifications in safety and compliance, such as the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
