Vice Principal

Job Summary:

The Vice Principal will assist the Principal in the overall administration of the school, including supervising and evaluating teachers, developing and implementing curriculum, and managing student discipline. The Vice Principal will also provide leadership and guidance to students, teachers, and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administration:

Assist the Principal in the overall administration of the school, including supervising and evaluating teachers, developing and implementing curriculum, and managing student discipline.

1. Supervision and Evaluation:

Supervise and evaluate teachers, including observing classes, providing feedback, and conducting evaluations.

1. Curriculum Development:

Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum, including reviewing and revising curriculum guides, developing new courses, and ensuring that curriculum is aligned with state and national standards.

1. Student Discipline:

Manage student discipline, including investigating incidents, imposing discipline, and communicating with parents.

1. Leadership:

Provide leadership and guidance to students, teachers, and parents, including serving as a role model, providing guidance and support, and making decisions that impact the school community.

1. Communication:

Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and the community, including speaking, writing, and listening.

1. Problem-Solving:

Analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement plans to address issues that impact the school community.

Requirements:

1. Education:

Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.

1. Experience:

At least 5-7 years of experience in education, including experience as a teacher, department chair, or assistant principal.

1. Certifications:

Certification as a school administrator, such as a Principal or Assistant Principal certification.

1. Leadership Skills:

Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide students, teachers, and parents.

1. Communication Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

1. Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Doctoral Degree:

Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.

1. Experience as a Principal:

Experience as a principal or assistant principal, including experience managing a school budget, supervising teachers, and making disciplinary decisions.

1. Experience with Diversity:

Experience working with diverse populations, including students, teachers, and parents from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

1. Experience with Technology:

Experience using technology to enhance teaching, learning, and school operations, including experience with student information systems, learning management systems, and other educational software.
