Educational Counselor
Job Summary:
The Educational Counselor will provide guidance and support to students in academic, career, and personal matters. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work with diverse populations, and a strong understanding of educational and career development principles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Advising:
Provide academic advising to students, including helping them choose courses, plan their academic path, and achieve their educational goals.
1. Career Counseling:
Provide career counseling to students, including helping them explore career options, develop job search skills, and create career development plans.
1. Personal Counseling:
Provide personal counseling to students, including helping them cope with academic and personal stress, develop study skills and time management techniques, and achieve their personal goals.
1. Program Development:
Develop and implement programs and services to support student success, including workshops, seminars, and individual counseling sessions.
1. Collaboration:
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other educational professionals to support student success and provide comprehensive educational services.
Requirements:
1. Education:
Master’s degree in counseling, education, or a related field.
1. Experience:
At least 2-3 years of experience in educational counseling or a related field.
1. Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Strong understanding of educational and career development principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certification:
Certification as a professional counselor or educational counselor.
1. Experience working with diverse populations:
Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including students with disabilities, international students, and students from underrepresented groups.
1. Knowledge of career development principles:
Knowledge of career development principles and practices, including career assessment, career exploration, and job search strategies.
