Education Counsellor

Job Summary:

The Education Counsellor will provide guidance and support to students in making informed decisions about their educational and career goals. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of educational systems and career development principles, and the ability to work with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Counselling:

Provide individual and group counselling to students on educational and career goals, including course selection, program choices, and career exploration.

1. Career Development:

Assist students in developing career plans, including resume building, job search strategies, and interview preparation.

1. Educational Planning:

Help students develop educational plans, including course selection, program choices, and graduation requirements.

1. Student Support:

Provide support and guidance to students on academic and personal issues, including academic probation, learning difficulties, and personal concerns.

1. Collaboration:

Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other educational professionals to support student success and provide comprehensive educational services.

Requirements:

1. Education:

Master’s degree in Counselling, Education, or a related field.

1. Experience:

At least 2-3 years of experience in educational counselling or a related field.

1. Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of educational systems and career development principles.
Ability to work with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Certification:

Certification in educational counselling or a related field.

1. Experience working with diverse populations:

Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including students with disabilities, international students, and students from underrepresented groups.

1. Knowledge of career development principles:

Knowledge of career development principles and practices, including career assessment, career exploration, and job search strategies.
