Assistant Professor of Anatomy
Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor of Anatomy will teach anatomy courses to medical students, develop and maintain curriculum, conduct research, and participate in departmental and institutional service. The successful candidate will have a strong background in anatomy, excellent teaching and communication skills, and a commitment to research and academic service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching:
Teach anatomy courses to medical students, including lectures, laboratories, and small groups.
1. Curriculum Development:
Develop and maintain anatomy curriculum, including course objectives, syllabi, and assessments.
1. Research:
Conduct research in anatomy or a related field, including publishing papers and presenting at conferences.
1. Service:
Participate in departmental and institutional service, including committee work, peer review, and community outreach.
1. Mentorship:
Mentor medical students, including advising, career guidance, and research supervision.
Requirements:
1. Education:
Ph.D. or M.D. degree in Anatomy, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
1. Experience:
At least 2-3 years of experience teaching anatomy to medical students.
1. Skills:
Excellent teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong background in anatomy, including knowledge of gross anatomy, histology, and neuroanatomy.
Ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Postdoctoral Training:
Postdoctoral training in anatomy or a related field.
1. Research Experience:
Experience conducting research in anatomy or a related field, including publishing papers and presenting at conferences.
1. Certification:
Certification in anatomy, such as the Certified Anatomist (CA) designation.
