Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Instruction:
- Teach undergraduate, graduate, and possibly doctoral-level courses in the subject area, ensuring high academic standards and effective pedagogy.
- Develop and update course content, instructional materials, and syllabi in alignment with current trends in the discipline.
- Supervise graduate students’ thesis work, dissertations, and independent research projects.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Employ innovative teaching methods, integrating technology and active learning strategies to enhance student engagement.
- Advise students on academic and career matters, helping them navigate their academic paths and professional goals.
- Research and Scholarly Activities:
- Lead and manage research projects, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
- Publish original research in peer-reviewed journals, books, and other scholarly platforms.
- Present research at academic conferences, symposia, and workshops, further establishing expertise in the discipline.
- Seek external funding through grants and fellowships to support research endeavors.
- Collaborate with colleagues, both within the department and across disciplines, on joint research initiatives.
- Serve as a mentor for junior faculty, guiding them in developing their own research projects and scholarly activities.
- Service and University Contribution:
- Serve on departmental, college, or university committees, contributing to the governance and development of the institution.
- Participate in strategic planning for the department or college, advising on curriculum development, program review, and academic policy.
- Provide leadership in shaping the direction of academic programs, helping to maintain and strengthen the department’s academic reputation.
- Actively contribute to the academic community by engaging in outreach, professional organizations, and community partnerships.
- Represent the department or college at academic conferences, professional organizations, and institutional events.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department, classroom, and broader campus community.
- Mentorship and Leadership:
- Mentor junior faculty, providing guidance on teaching, research, and tenure-track requirements.
- Take on leadership roles within the department, such as committee chairmanships or leadership in academic initiatives.
- Assist in the recruitment and professional development of faculty and staff.
- Provide academic and professional mentorship to graduate students and early-career researchers.
- Curriculum Development and Academic Planning:
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the curriculum within the department, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of students and the discipline.
- Lead efforts to innovate and improve academic programs, integrating emerging trends, research, and best practices.
- Engage in program review, accreditation, and assessment activities to ensure the quality of academic offerings.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in the field (or equivalent professional experience) is required.
- A strong academic record and established expertise in the specific field of study.
- Experience:
- Significant experience as a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
- Evidence of a successful record of teaching, research, and service.
- A proven record of scholarly publications, conference presentations, and/or external funding (grants, fellowships).
- Experience in mentoring and advising graduate students or junior faculty.
- A demonstrated commitment to enhancing the learning environment and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
