Montessori Teacher
Job Summary:
The Montessori Teacher will create a supportive and stimulating learning environment for children, using the Montessori method. The successful candidate will have excellent teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Management:
Create a well-organized and prepared classroom environment, adhering to Montessori principles.
1. Lesson Planning:
Develop and implement individualized lesson plans, tailored to each child’s unique needs and interests.
1. Instruction:
Provide one-on-one and group instruction, using Montessori materials and methods.
1. Observation and Assessment:
Observe and assess children’s progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness.
1. Communication:
Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators, providing regular progress updates and insights.
1. Professional Development:
Participate in ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices in Montessori education.
Requirements:
1. Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, or a related field.
1. Certification:
Montessori certification (e.g., AMI, AMS, or MACTE).
1. Experience:
At least 2-3 years of experience teaching in a Montessori setting.
Skills:
Excellent teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy.
Ability to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree:
Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, or a related field.
1. Special Education Experience:
Experience working with children with special needs.
1. Bilingualism:
Fluency in a second language.
