Head of Research
Job Summary:
The Office of Research is responsible for promoting and supporting research excellence across the institution. The office provides leadership, resources, and services to faculty, staff, and students to facilitate innovative research, scholarship, and creative activities.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement research strategic plans and policies
– Provide research development support, including grant writing, research design, and statistical analysis
– Manage research compliance, including human subjects, animal care, and biosafety
– Oversee research safety, including laboratory safety, radiation safety, and environmental health and safety
– Provide research education and training, including workshops, seminars, and online resources
– Foster collaboration and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry, government, and academia
– Manage research funding, including grants, contracts, and philanthropy
– Analyze and report research metrics, including publication rates, citation rates, and research expenditures
Requirements:
– Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as research administration, science, or engineering
– Experience in research administration, including research development, compliance, and safety
– Strong understanding of research policies, procedures, and regulations
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
– Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
– Doctoral degree in a relevant field
– Experience in research funding, including grants, contracts, and philanthropy
– Familiarity with research information systems, including research databases and analytics tools
– Experience in research education and training, including workshop development and delivery
