Job Summary:

The Head of School is the chief executive officer of the school, responsible for providing strategic leadership, vision, and direction to ensure the school’s mission, values, and objectives are achieved. The Head of School is accountable for the overall management and operations of the school, including academic programs, student life, faculty and staff management, finance, and external relations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

– Develop and implement the school’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the school’s mission, values, and objectives.
– Provide vision, leadership, and direction to the school community, inspiring and motivating students, faculty, and staff to achieve excellence.
– Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement, encouraging experimentation, calculated risk-taking, and learning from failure.

1. Academic Leadership:

– Oversee the development and implementation of academic programs, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
– Ensure that the school’s curriculum is rigorous, relevant, and aligned with the school’s mission and values.
– Support the development of faculty and staff, providing opportunities for professional growth, training, and development.

1. Faculty and Staff Management:

– Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and talented faculty and staff, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
– Ensure that faculty and staff are equipped to support the school’s mission and values, providing training and development opportunities as needed.
– Manage faculty and staff performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and evaluation.

1. Student Life:

– Ensure the well-being, safety, and success of students, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
– Oversee the development and implementation of student programs and services, including counseling, advising, and extracurricular activities.
– Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians, ensuring that students feel supported, heard, and valued.

1. Finance and Operations:

– Manage the school’s finances, ensuring effective use of resources, budgeting, and financial planning.
– Oversee the management of the school’s facilities, ensuring that they are safe, well-maintained, and support the school’s mission and values.
– Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and governing body policies and procedures.

1. External Relations:

– Foster positive relationships with parents, alumni, donors, and the broader community, promoting the school’s reputation and interests.
– Develop and implement strategies to engage with external stakeholders, including marketing, communications, and development initiatives.
– Ensure that the school is actively involved in the local community, fostering partnerships and collaborations that support the school’s mission and values.

1. Governance and Compliance:

– Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and governing body policies and procedures.
– Provide leadership and guidance to the school’s governing body, ensuring that they are informed and engaged in the school’s decision-making processes.
– Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the school’s governance and compliance obligations are met.

Requirements:

1. Education:

– Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
– Doctoral degree preferred.

1. Experience:

– Proven experience in educational leadership, preferably as a Head of School, Principal, or senior administrator.
– Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and academic leadership preferred.
