Academic Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Academic Coordinator is a key member of the academic team, responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of academic programs and services. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Administration:

– Provide administrative support to academic programs, including course scheduling, room booking, and exam coordination.
– Assist with the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, grades, and academic standing.

1. Student Support:

– Provide support and guidance to students, including answering queries, resolving issues, and referring students to relevant support services.
– Assist with student recruitment, orientation, and retention initiatives.
– Develop and maintain relationships with student organizations and groups.

1. Faculty Support:

– Provide administrative support to faculty members, including assistance with course preparation, grading, and research projects.
– Assist with the development and implementation of faculty development programs and initiatives.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of faculty workload, teaching assignments, and research activities.

1. Communication and Marketing:

– Assist with the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies to promote academic programs and services.
– Coordinate the production and distribution of promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and social media content.
– Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including industry, government, and community organizations.

Requirements:

1. Education:

– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as education, business, or communications.
– Master’s degree preferred.

1. Experience:

– At least 2 years of experience in an academic administration role, preferably in a higher education institution.
– Experience in student affairs, academic advising, or teaching preferred.

1. Skills:

– Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced academic environment.
– Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
– Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
