Registrar

Job Summary:

The Registrar is a senior administrative position responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar ensures the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of student academic records, and provides exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Records:

– Oversee the maintenance and management of student academic records, including transcripts, diplomas, and degree verifications.
– Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as institutional policies, regarding student records.

1. Registration and Enrollment:

– Oversee the registration and enrollment processes, including course scheduling, room assignments, and waitlist management.
– Ensure accurate and timely processing of student enrollment data.

1. Degree Audit and Conferral:

– Oversee the degree audit and conferral processes, including verification of degree requirements and awarding of degrees.
– Ensure accurate and timely processing of degree conferrals.

1. FERPA Compliance:

– Ensure compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other federal and state regulations regarding student records.
– Provide training and guidance to staff and faculty on FERPA compliance.

1. Leadership and Management:

– Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Office of the Registrar.
– Supervise and manage a team of staff, including registrars, assistant registrars, and administrative assistants.

Requirements:

1. Education:

– Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field.
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be considered with significant experience.

1. Experience:

– At least 5 years of experience in a registrar’s office or a related field, preferably in higher education.
– Experience with student information systems, degree audit software, and other technologies related to academic records and registration.

1. Skills:

– Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to supervise and manage staff.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret and apply federal and state regulations, as well as institutional policies.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
