Vice Chancellor

Job Summary:

The Vice Chancellor is the chief academic officer of the university and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision for the institution’s academic programs, research initiatives, and student affairs. The Vice Chancellor works closely with the Chancellor, Deans, and other senior administrators to ensure the university’s mission, aims, and objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Leadership:

– Provide strategic leadership and vision for the university’s academic programs, research initiatives, and student affairs.
– Oversee the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
– Ensure academic programs are accredited and meet the requirements of relevant accrediting agencies.

1. Research and Innovation:

– Foster a culture of research and innovation across the university.
– Oversee the development and implementation of research policies and procedures.
– Ensure the university’s research initiatives are aligned with its strategic plan and meet the needs of stakeholders.

1. Student Affairs:

– Provide strategic leadership and vision for the university’s student affairs programs and services.
– Oversee the development and implementation of student affairs policies and procedures.
– Ensure student affairs programs and services meet the needs of students and support their academic success.

1. Faculty and Staff Management:

– Provide leadership and guidance to Deans, Department Chairs, and other academic administrators.
– Oversee the recruitment, retention, and development of faculty and staff.
– Ensure faculty and staff are equipped to support the university’s mission and objectives.

1. Budget and Resource Management:

– Oversee the development and management of the university’s budget.
– Ensure the university’s resources are allocated effectively and efficiently to support its mission and objectives.

1. External Relations:

– Represent the university externally, fostering relationships with stakeholders and promoting the university’s reputation.
– Develop and maintain partnerships with external organizations to support the university’s mission and objectives.

Requirements:

1. Education:

– Earned doctorate in a relevant field.

1. Experience:

– At least 10 years of experience in higher education administration, including experience as a Dean or Department Chair.
– Experience in academic leadership, research, and student affairs.

1. Skills:

– Strong leadership and communication skills.
– Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions.
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
– Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
