Assistant Lecturer

Job Summary:

The Assistant Lecturer is a full-time academic position responsible for teaching, research, and service to the department and the university. The Assistant Lecturer will contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, conduct research, and participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching:

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the department.
Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials, including course notes, assignments, and assessments.
Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.

1. Research:

Conduct original research in their field, including the development of research proposals, securing funding, and publishing research outcomes in high-quality journals and conferences.
Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to develop and conduct research projects.

1. Service:

Participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives and activities.
Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Provide service to the university and the broader community.

Requirements:

1. Education:

A master’s degree in the relevant field.
A PhD in the relevant field is preferred.

1. Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in teaching and research, preferably in a university setting.
Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment.

1. Skills:

Strong teaching and communication skills.
Ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues and external partners.
