Transport Officer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Transport Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the transportation of goods, people, or services. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Planning and Coordination
– Plan and coordinate transportation routes, schedules, and logistics
– Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, laws, and company policies
– Collaborate with drivers, dispatchers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transportation operations
Fleet Management
– Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of vehicles and equipment
– Ensure vehicles are properly licensed, insured, and registered
– Manage fuel, maintenance, and repair costs to optimize efficiency
Safety and Compliance
– Ensure compliance with safety regulations, laws, and company policies
– Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement
– Develop and implement safety training programs for drivers and other transportation staff
Customer Service
– Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
– Respond to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner
– Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer issues and improve overall customer satisfaction
Requirements:
Education
– High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in logistics, transportation, or related field preferred
Experience
– At least 2-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field
– Experience with transportation management software and systems
Skills
– Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
– Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
