Controller Examination
Examination Overview:
The Controller Examination is a comprehensive assessment designed to evaluate a candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities in financial management, accounting, and controllership. The examination is intended for financial professionals seeking to demonstrate their expertise and competence in the controller role.
Examination Objectives:
The Controller Examination aims to assess the candidate’s ability to:
1. Apply financial management principles and concepts to real-world scenarios.
2. Analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
3. Evaluate and implement internal controls and risk management strategies.
4. Demonstrate knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
5. Apply leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate teams.
Examination Format:
The Controller Examination consists of:
1. Multiple-choice questions (60% of total score)
2. Case studies and scenario-based questions (20% of total score)
3. Essay questions (20% of total score)
Examination Content:
The examination covers the following topics:
1. Financial Management (30% of total score)
– Financial planning and budgeting
– Financial reporting and analysis
– Financial decision-making and strategy
2. Accounting and Financial Reporting (25% of total score)
– Financial statements and reporting
– Accounting standards and regulations
– Financial analysis and interpretation
3. Internal Controls and Risk Management (20% of total score)
– Internal control frameworks and models
– Risk assessment and mitigation strategies
– Compliance and regulatory requirements
4. Leadership and Communication (25% of total score)
– Leadership and management principles
– Communication and interpersonal skills
– Team management and motivation
Examination Requirements:
To be eligible for the examination, candidates must:
1. Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2. Have at least 2 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field.
3. Meet the continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
Examination Scoring and Results:
The examination is scored on a scale of 100-1000 points. Candidates who achieve a minimum score of 700 points will be considered to have passed the examination. Examination results will be available within 6-8 weeks after the examination date.
