Biomedical Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Technician to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing medical equipment, as well as providing technical support to healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Installation and Maintenance
– Install, inspect, and test medical equipment to ensure proper functioning.
– Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on medical equipment.
– Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve issues promptly.
Technical Support
– Provide technical support and training to healthcare professionals on the use of medical equipment.
– Assist in the development and implementation of equipment maintenance and training programs.
– Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and address equipment-related issues.
Quality Assurance and Safety
– Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies.
– Conduct quality assurance tests and inspections to ensure equipment safety and effectiveness.
– Identify and report potential safety hazards and equipment malfunctions.
Documentation and Record-Keeping
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
– Document technical issues and resolutions for future reference.
– Generate reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.
Requirements:
Education
– Associate’s degree in biomedical technology, electronics, or a related field.
– Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
– At least 2 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
– Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Certifications
– Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification preferred.
– Other relevant certifications, such as ICC or AAMI, may be considered.
Skills
– Strong technical knowledge of medical equipment and electronics.
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
