Librarian
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Librarian to join our library team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing research support, teaching information literacy, and contributing to the library’s collection development and outreach initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide research support and guidance to students, faculty, and staff
– Teach information literacy classes and workshops
– Develop and maintain the library’s collection in assigned subject areas
– Participate in outreach and engagement initiatives to promote the library’s services and resources
– Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources and services into the curriculum
– Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in librarianship
Requirements:
– Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) or Library and Information Science (MLIS)
– At least 2 years of experience working in an academic library
– Strong knowledge of information literacy, collection development, and library instruction
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills
– Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience working with diverse populations
– Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in librarianship, such as digital scholarship and open educational resources
– Experience with library management systems and discovery layers
– Certification in library instruction or information literacy
