Lecturer in Mathematics
Job Summary:
The Lecturer in Mathematics will teach and conduct research in mathematics, and contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and graduate programs in mathematics. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics, including lectures, tutorials, and seminars.
2. Research: Conduct original research in mathematics, and publish research findings in reputable journals.
3. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and revision of mathematics curricula.
4. Student Supervision: Supervise undergraduate and graduate students in mathematics.
5. Service: Participate in departmental, faculty, and university service, including committee work and community outreach.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field.
2. Teaching Experience: Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
3. Research Experience: Research experience in mathematics, demonstrated by publications in reputable journals.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Postdoctoral Experience: Postdoctoral research experience in mathematics.
2. Experience with Mathematics Education: Experience with mathematics education, including curriculum development and pedagogy.
3. Grant Writing Experience: Experience with grant writing and securing research funding.
4. Professional Memberships: Membership in professional organizations, such as the American Mathematical Society.
