Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and supportive Academic Advisor to provide guidance and support to students in their academic pursuits. The successful candidate will help students explore their academic interests, develop educational plans, and achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Guidance: Provide individualized academic advising to students, exploring their interests, skills, and career goals.
2. Educational Planning: Help students develop and implement educational plans, including course selection and sequencing.
3. Course Selection: Assist students in selecting courses that align with their academic and career goals.
4. Degree Progress: Monitor students’ progress toward degree completion and provide guidance on degree requirements.
5. Career Exploration: Help students explore career options and develop plans to achieve their career goals.
6. Campus Resources: Connect students with campus resources, such as tutoring, counseling, and career services.
7. Communication: Communicate with students, faculty, and staff to ensure student success.
Requirements:
1. Master’s Degree: Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field.
2. Academic Advising Experience: Experience in academic advising or a related field.
3. Knowledge of Academic Programs: Familiarity with academic programs, policies, and procedures.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Cultural Competence: Ability to work with diverse student populations.
