Computer Operator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Computer Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining computer systems, hardware, and software, ensuring efficient and effective operation of computer systems and networks.
Key Responsibilities:
System Operations
1. Operate and maintain computer systems, hardware, and software, ensuring efficient and effective operation.
2. Monitor system performance, identifying and resolving problems in a timely and effective manner.
3. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, updates, and patches.
4. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures for computer system operations.
Technical Support
1. Provide technical support to users, resolving hardware and software problems in a timely and effective manner.
2. Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware and software problems.
3. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
4. Ensure that all technical problems are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
Network Administration
1. Administer and maintain computer networks, ensuring efficient and effective operation.
2. Monitor network performance, identifying and resolving problems in a timely and effective manner.
3. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including backups, updates, and patches.
4. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures for network administration.
Security
1. Ensure the security and integrity of computer systems and networks.
2. Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls.
3. Monitor system and network activity, identifying and responding to security threats in a timely and effective manner.
4. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures for security.
Documentation and Reporting
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of computer systems and networks.
2. Prepare and submit reports on system and network performance, including recommendations for improvement.
3. Maintain records of technical problems and resolutions.
4. Ensure that all documentation and reporting requirements are met.
Requirements:
Qualifications
1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification.
3. Experience with computer hardware, software, and networking.
Experience
1. At least 2 years of experience as a Computer Operator or related role.
2. Experience with computer system administration, technical support, and network administration.
3. Experience with security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls.
Skills
1. Strong technical skills, including knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
2. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification.
3. Experience with cloud computing, virtualization, and cybersecurity.
Experience
1. Experience with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL.
2. Experience with project management methodologies, such as Agile.
3. Experience with database administration and management.
Skills
1. Experience with scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell.
2. Experience with cloud-based services, such as AWS or Azure.
3. Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and regulations, such as NIST or HIPAA.
