Position Overview:

An Elementary School Teacher (EST) is a professional educator responsible for instructing students at the primary education level, typically from Kindergarten through 5th grade. The EST plays a vital role in nurturing the intellectual, emotional, and social development of young learners. This position requires a passion for fostering curiosity, developing foundational skills, and creating a positive, supportive classroom environment where students can grow and thrive academically and socially.

An EST teaches a range of subjects, including language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and often art, music, or physical education, depending on the school’s structure. They employ a variety of teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of their students and work closely with parents, school staff, and the community to ensure the best possible learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum and Lesson Planning:
    • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and national educational standards.

  3. Classroom Management:
    • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respectful behavior, collaboration, and active participation.
    • Establish clear rules and routines to ensure smooth classroom operations and a structured learning environment.
    • Use proactive classroom management techniques to prevent disruptions and address behavioral issues in a constructive manner.
    • Encourage students to take responsibility for their learning and behavior, promoting independence and self-regulation.
  4. Student Assessment and Feedback:
    • Monitor and assess students’ academic progress through regular formative and summative assessments, including quizzes, tests, projects, and observations.
    • Maintain detailed records of students’ academic performance, behavioral development, and personal growth.
    • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students on assignments, projects, and tests to promote improvement.
    • Identify areas of weakness and work with students individually or in small groups to provide additional support or enrichment.
  5. Individualized Instruction:
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with varying abilities, English language learners, and students with special needs.
    • Modify lesson plans and materials to accommodate individual students’ learning styles, strengths, and challenges.
    • Collaborate with special education teachers, counselors, and support staff to provide a well-rounded educational experience for all students.
  6. Parent and Community Engagement:
    • Establish strong communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child’s academic progress, behavioral development, and classroom activities.
    • Hold regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss student performance, goals, and strategies for improvement.
    • Participate in school-wide events and activities that promote school spirit, student engagement, and community involvement.

Qualifications and Skills:
