Career Development Advisor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career Development Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing career guidance and support to students, alumni, and other clients, helping them to explore their career options, develop job search strategies, and achieve their career goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Career Counseling:
– Provide one-on-one career counseling sessions to students, alumni, and other clients, exploring their career interests, values, and goals.
– Help clients to identify their strengths, skills, and areas for development.
– Assist clients in developing career plans and setting realistic career goals.
Career Development:
– Develop and deliver career development programs, workshops, and events, focusing on topics such as resume writing, interviewing skills, and job search strategies.
– Collaborate with faculty, staff, and industry partners to develop and implement career development initiatives.
– Stay up-to-date with industry trends and labor market information, sharing this knowledge with clients and stakeholders.
Job Search Support:
– Assist clients in developing effective job search strategies, including resume writing, cover letter writing, and interviewing skills.
– Provide guidance on job search resources, including job boards, career fairs, and networking events.
– Help clients to prepare for job interviews, including conducting mock interviews and providing feedback.
Assessment and Evaluation:
– Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of career development programs and services.
– Analyze data and make recommendations for program improvements.
– Evaluate client satisfaction and make adjustments to services as needed.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field.
– Minimum 2-3 years of experience in career development, counseling, or a related field.
– Strong knowledge of career development theories, models, and practices.
Skills:
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work with diverse populations, including students, alumni, and industry partners.
– Familiarity with career assessment tools and job search resources.
Knowledge:
