Research Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist researchers in designing, implementing, and analyzing research studies, as well as contribute to the development of research proposals, reports, and publications.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Support:
– Assist researchers in designing and implementing research studies, including developing research questions, designing methodologies, and collecting and analyzing data
– Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings
– Assist in the development of research proposals, reports, and publications
Data Management:
– Collect, manage, and analyze data, including quantitative and qualitative data
– Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets to store and manage data
– Ensure data quality and integrity
Research Coordination:
– Coordinate research activities, including scheduling meetings, arranging travel, and preparing materials
– Assist in the preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols and other regulatory documents
– Communicate with research participants, including recruiting participants, obtaining informed consent, and collecting data
Analysis and Reporting:
– Analyze data using statistical software, such as R, SPSS, or SAS
– Assist in the preparation of research reports, including writing, editing, and formatting
– Contribute to the development of research publications, including journal articles, conference presentations, and posters
Requirements:
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, sociology, or statistics
– Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a research setting, preferably as a research assistant
– Strong knowledge of research methods and statistical analysis
Skills:
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Proficiency in statistical software, such as R, SPSS, or SAS
Knowledge:
– Strong knowledge of research methods and statistical analysis
– Understanding of research ethics and regulatory requirements
– Familiarity with research software and tools, such as literature review management software and data analysis software
Desired Qualifications:
– Experience with qualitative data analysis software, such as NVivo or Alesti
– Familiarity with systematic review methodology
– Experience with research dissemination and knowledge translation
