Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to fill the role of Director of University Student Life. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and vision for student life programs and services, fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus community that supports student success and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for student life that aligns with the university’s strategic plan.
2. Student Life Programs: Oversee the development and implementation of student life programs and services, including student organizations, leadership development, and campus events.
3. Student Support Services: Provide oversight for student support services, including counseling, health services, and student conduct.
4. Campus Community Building: Foster a sense of community and belonging among students, faculty, and staff.
5. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that support underrepresented student populations.
6. Budget Management: Manage the student life budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
7. Collaboration and Partnerships: Build and maintain partnerships with academic departments, student organizations, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
1. Master’s Degree: Earned master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field.
2. Experience in Student Affairs: Minimum 5 years of experience in student affairs, including experience in leadership roles.
3. Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills, including experience with strategic planning, budget management, and staff supervision.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
5. Commitment to Diversity: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Desired Qualifications
1. Doctoral Degree: Earned doctoral degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field.
2. Experience with Crisis Management: Experience with crisis management and response.
3. Experience with Assessment and Evaluation: Experience with assessment and evaluation of student life programs and services.
4. Certifications: Certifications in student affairs, such as NASPA or ACUHO-I.
