Engineering Lab Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Lab Assistant to support our engineering team in maintaining and operating our laboratory facilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lab Maintenance: Maintain and organize laboratory equipment, tools, and supplies.
2. Experiment Setup: Assist engineers in setting up and preparing experiments, including preparing test samples and equipment.
3. Data Collection: Collect and record data from experiments, including operating data acquisition systems.
4. Equipment Calibration: Calibrate and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
5. Safety Protocols: Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
6. Inventory Management: Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment.
7. Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers and other lab assistants to achieve project goals.
Requirements
1. Education: Associate’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, physics, chemistry).
2. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an engineering or scientific field.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment, including data acquisition systems.
4. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, physics, chemistry).
2. Industry Experience: Experience working in a specific industry or field (e.g., aerospace, biomedical).
3. Certifications: Relevant certifications or training (e.g., laboratory safety, equipment operation).
4. Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
