Assistant Professor of Computer Sciences
Job Summary
We are seeking an outstanding scholar and educator to join our Computer Science department as an Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will have a strong research background, excellent teaching skills, and a passion for mentoring students. The Assistant Professor will contribute to the growth and development of the department, advancing its mission to provide high-quality education and research opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science, including introductory programming courses, data structures, algorithms, computer systems, and software engineering.
2. Research: Conduct original research in Computer Science, publish research papers in top-tier conferences and journals, and secure external funding to support research endeavors.
3. Mentoring: Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, providing guidance on research projects, academic careers, and professional development.
4. Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work, curriculum development, and community outreach.
5. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of the Computer Science curriculum, ensuring that it remains current, relevant, and aligned with industry needs.
Requirements
1. Ph.D.: Earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
2. Research Experience: Strong research background, demonstrated by publications in top-tier conferences and journals.
3. Teaching Experience: Experience teaching Computer Science courses, either as a teaching assistant or instructor.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
5. Commitment to Diversity: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a strong understanding of the importance of diversity in the field of Computer Science.
