Secondary teacher
Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning and Delivery:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in the assigned subject area (e.g., math, science, English, history, etc.).
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students’ varying needs and abilities.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to enhance student learning.

Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies.
- Promote respect, responsibility, and discipline among students.

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments (tests, quizzes, projects, etc.).
- Provide timely feedback on student performance and areas for improvement.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.

Student Support:
- Provide individual or small group instruction as needed for students who require additional help.
- Offer academic support and mentoring to students, including career and personal development.
- Address diverse learning needs and styles through differentiated instruction.

Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, including department heads, counselors, and administrators, to improve school programs and student outcomes.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.

Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
- Participate in school committees and extracurricular activities, as required.
- Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes, school policies, and educational best practices.

Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to improve teaching effectiveness.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance subject knowledge and teaching skills.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in education or in a specific subject area (such as Mathematics, English, Science, etc.).
- Certification or licensure as required by the state or region.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning.
