Biomedical Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Biomedical Engineer to design, develop, and test medical devices, equipment, and procedures. The successful candidate will apply engineering principles to medical and biological systems, with the goal of improving human health and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and Development: Design, develop, and test medical devices, equipment, and procedures, such as prosthetics, implants, and diagnostic equipment.
2. Research and Development: Conduct research and development activities to improve existing medical devices and procedures, and to develop new ones.
3. Testing and Validation: Test and validate medical devices and equipment to ensure safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance.
4. Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry partners to identify needs and opportunities for biomedical engineering solutions.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as FDA regulations, and industry standards.
6. Education and Training: Develop and deliver educational programs and training sessions for healthcare professionals, students, and industry partners.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering: Earned bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or a related field, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or biological engineering.
2. Engineering Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in biomedical engineering, medical device development, or a related field.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering design software, such as CAD, and programming languages, such as MATLAB or Python.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry partners.

Desired Qualifications

1. Master’s or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering: Earned master’s or Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a related field, with a strong record of research and academic achievement.
2. Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications, such as the Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or the Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).
3. Industry Experience: Experience working in the medical device industry, healthcare sector, or a related field.
4. Research Experience: Experience conducting research in biomedical engineering, with a focus on developing innovative solutions to medical and biological problems.
