Job Summary:

A School Coordinator is responsible for managing and organizing the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring that academic programs run efficiently, and supporting the needs of both students and staff. This role involves coordinating between different departments, managing schedules, overseeing events, and contributing to the overall development of the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administrative Support:

    • Assist in the development and execution of the school’s academic and operational plans.
    • Manage school schedules, ensuring that timetables for classes, exams, and events are efficiently coordinated.
    • Maintain accurate records, including student attendance, academic performance, and faculty work hours.
    • Support the school leadership team in administrative tasks and reporting.
  2. Communication and Liaison:

    • Act as a liaison between school administration, faculty, students, and parents to ensure effective communication.
    • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and communications with parents to discuss student progress and school events.
    • Organize and distribute school newsletters or announcements to keep stakeholders informed about upcoming activities and important updates.
  3. Event Planning and Management:

    • Oversee and organize school events such as parent-teacher meetings, school assemblies, extracurricular activities, and special events (e.g., graduations, sports days).
    • Work with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure that events run smoothly.
    • Manage logistics for events, including booking venues, arranging transportation, and coordinating schedules.
  4. Student Support and Welfare:

    • Assist with student enrollment, orientation, and general support for new students and families.
    • Collaborate with teachers and counselors to address student needs, such as academic support or behavioral issues.
    • Monitor student attendance and work with staff and parents to resolve attendance-related issues.
  5. Faculty Support and Development:

    • Support teachers and staff by helping with resource allocation, lesson planning, and classroom needs.
    • Coordinate teacher schedules, including substitutes, professional development opportunities, and leave management.
    • Assist in organizing staff training programs to ensure continuous professional growth.
  6. Inventory and Resource Management:

    • Ensure that classrooms and offices are equipped with necessary teaching materials, supplies, and equipment.
    • Manage inventory and order supplies when needed.
    • Work with school leadership to manage budget and financial resources for academic departments and school activities.
  7. Policy and Compliance:

    • Help ensure that the school complies with all local, regional, and national educational regulations and policies.
    • Assist in implementing school policies and procedures regarding safety, discipline, and academic standards.
    • Support the leadership team in audits or assessments related to the school’s academic performance or compliance.
  8. Coordination of Extracurricular Activities:

    • Organize extracurricular programs such as clubs, sports, music, drama, and other student-centered activities.
    • Work with teachers and student leaders to promote participation in extracurricular activities.
    • Ensure the coordination of schedules and logistics for extracurricular events and competitions.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Experience in an educational environment, preferably in a coordination or administrative role.
  • Strong understanding of educational systems, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and school management systems.
