Vice Chancellor

Job Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Vice Chancellor, responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership to the university. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of academic and administrative leadership, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and the ability to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic vision and leadership to the university, aligning with the institution’s mission and goals.
2. Academic Oversight: Oversee the development and implementation of academic programs, policies, and procedures.
3. Research and Innovation: Foster a culture of research and innovation, supporting faculty and student research initiatives and promoting entrepreneurship and community engagement.
4. Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the management of the university’s budget and resources, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
5. Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government, industry, and community partners.
6. Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and university policies, and provide guidance on governance matters.

Requirements:

1. Earned Doctorate: Earned doctorate from a reputable institution.
2. Academic Leadership Experience: Proven academic leadership experience, including experience as a dean, provost, or vice president.
3. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
4. Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make informed decisions.
5. Collaborative Leadership Style: Proven ability to foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Experience in Higher Education: Experience working in higher education, with a deep understanding of academic and administrative processes.
2. Fundraising and Development Experience: Experience with fundraising and development, including building relationships with donors and securing external funding.
3. International Experience: Experience working in international contexts, with a deep understanding of global higher education trends and challenges.
