Lecturer in Accounting

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Lecturer in Accounting to join our Accounting Department. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in accounting, excellent teaching skills, and a passion for mentoring students.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting, including financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, and auditing.
2. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of the accounting curriculum, including creating new courses and revising existing ones.
3. Research: Conduct research in accounting and related fields, with a focus on publishing scholarly articles in reputable journals.
4. Mentoring: Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including supervising research projects and theses.
5. Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work and community outreach.

Requirements:

1. Ph.D. in Accounting: Earned Ph.D. in accounting or a related field, with a strong academic background in accounting.
2. Teaching Experience: Demonstrated teaching experience, with a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
3. Research Experience: Demonstrated research experience, with a strong record of publication and potential for securing external funding.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Professional Certification: Possession of a professional certification, such as CPA or CMA.
2. Industry Experience: Experience working in the accounting industry, with a deep understanding of accounting practices and standards.
3. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration, including working with colleagues from other departments and disciplines.
