 Counselling & Admission Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Counselling & Admission Manager to lead our counselling and admissions team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in counselling, admissions, and management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional student services.

Key Responsibilities

Counselling
1. Student Counselling: Provide individual and group counselling services to students, addressing issues such as academic stress, mental health, and personal concerns.
2. Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to students in distress, including responding to emergencies and collaborating with campus safety and security teams.
3. Referral Services: Connect students with external resources and services, such as mental health professionals, support groups, and community agencies.

Admissions

1. Admission Process: Oversee the admission process, including application review, interview scheduling, and admission decision-making.
2. Recruitment: Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract prospective students, including representing the institution at recruitment events and fairs.
3. Admission Counselling: Provide admission counselling to prospective students, including advising on program options, admission requirements, and application procedures.

Management

1. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of counsellors and admission staff, including supervising, mentoring, and evaluating team members.
2. Budget Management: Manage the counselling and admissions budget, including allocating resources, tracking expenses, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
3. Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures related to counselling and admissions, including ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

1. Master’s Degree in Counselling: Earned master’s degree in counselling or a related field, such as psychology or social work.
2. Admission Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in admissions, including experience with admission processes, recruitment strategies, and admission counselling.
3. Management Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in management, including experience with team leadership, budget management, and policy development.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and external stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

1. Ph.D. in Counselling: Earned Ph.D. in counselling or a related field.
2. Experience Working with Diverse Populations: Experience working with diverse populations, including students from diverse cultural backgrounds, students with disabilities, and LGBTQ2S+ students.
3. Knowledge of Admission Software: Knowledge of admission software, including experience with application management systems and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
4. Experience with Budget Management: Experience with budget management, including experience with financial planning, budgeting, and fiscal management.
