Job Title: Head of Curriculum
Job Summary: The Head of Curriculum is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of curriculum across all levels of the educational institution. This leadership role involves working closely with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure that the curriculum is aligned with educational standards, meets student needs, and integrates innovative teaching strategies. The Head of Curriculum also plays a key role in monitoring the effectiveness of educational programs and guiding professional development initiatives for staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Leadership and Development:
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the institution’s curriculum across all subjects and grade levels.
- Ensure that the curriculum is aligned with local, state, and national standards, as well as the institution’s educational goals and mission.
- Collaborate with faculty and subject coordinators to design and implement cross-curricular programs and initiatives.
- Introduce and integrate innovative and evidence-based educational practices, teaching methods, and technologies into the curriculum.

Strategic Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and oversee long-term curriculum plans that address the institution’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Ensure the curriculum is inclusive, catering to diverse student needs, including students with special educational needs, gifted students, and those requiring additional support.
- Ensure the curriculum is adaptable and responsive to changing educational trends, research, and policy developments.

Staff Training and Professional Development:
- Organize and lead professional development sessions for teachers to enhance their instructional practices, focusing on curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support for faculty in the implementation of the curriculum, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support teachers in using data and assessments to adjust and improve instructional practices and curriculum delivery.

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Establish a framework for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum through assessments, student performance data, and feedback from teachers and students.
- Regularly review and analyze student outcomes to ensure the curriculum is meeting learning objectives and making adjustments as necessary.
- Work with assessment coordinators to design and implement appropriate assessment strategies aligned with curriculum goals.

Collaboration with Leadership and Stakeholders:
- Work closely with school leadership (e.g., principals, academic directors) to align curriculum initiatives with institutional priorities.
- Serve as a key liaison between teaching staff, administrators, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure the curriculum supports student achievement and engagement.
- Represent the curriculum department at leadership meetings, offering expert advice on curriculum development and educational trends.

Resource Management:
- Oversee the selection, development, and distribution of curriculum resources, including textbooks, teaching materials, and digital tools.
- Manage the curriculum budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support curricular goals and initiatives.
- Identify and promote the use of technology to enhance curriculum delivery and student engagement.

Curriculum Innovation:
- Stay up-to-date with emerging educational research, trends, and technologies that could impact curriculum design and teaching methods.
- Lead the integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and other interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning.
- Ensure the curriculum incorporates real-world skills, critical thinking, and 21st-century learning competencies.

Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure that the curriculum complies with all regulatory requirements and educational standards.
- Prepare and submit reports on curriculum development, implementation, and effectiveness to school leadership and relevant educational authorities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in education, with significant experience in curriculum development and leadership roles.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, assessment methods, and educational standards.
- Leadership: Proven leadership experience in managing teams, fostering collaboration, and driving educational initiatives.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze educational data and use it to drive decisions about curriculum improvement and teaching practices.
- Technology Skills: Familiarity with educational technologies and digital learning tools to enhance curriculum delivery.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to identify challenges in curriculum delivery and implement effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in curriculum development or educational leadership.
- Experience in teaching a wide range of subjects or grade levels.
- Experience with curriculum integration of technology or online learning platforms.
