Education Program Manager

Job Summary:

The Education Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs within an organization or institution. This role involves working closely with educators, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure that programs meet learning objectives, align with organizational goals, and provide positive educational outcomes. The Education Program Manager also manages budgets, staff, and resources, ensuring that programs are effectively delivered to students or participants.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Design and Development:

  • Develop Educational Programs: Design and plan educational programs that meet the needs of students or learners, ensuring that they align with organizational objectives and educational standards.
  • Curriculum Design: Collaborate with subject matter experts and educators to create or adapt curriculum content and instructional materials that support the goals of the program.
  • Create Learning Outcomes: Define clear learning outcomes and objectives for each program and ensure that assessments align with these outcomes.

2. Program Implementation:

  • Oversee Program Delivery: Coordinate the day-to-day operations of educational programs, ensuring they are delivered on schedule, within budget, and according to the established curriculum.
  • Staff Management: Hire, train, and supervise program staff, including instructors, facilitators, and administrative support. Provide ongoing training and development to ensure quality delivery.
  • Coordinate Resources: Ensure that all necessary resources (e.g., educational materials, equipment, technology) are available and effectively utilized to enhance program delivery.

3. Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage Budgets: Develop and manage the budget for the educational programs, ensuring financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to meet program needs.
  • Procure Resources: Identify and procure educational resources, tools, and technologies required for the programs, ensuring they are appropriate for the intended learning outcomes.
  • Ensure Cost-Effectiveness: Ensure that the program operates within budget constraints while maintaining high-quality delivery and maximizing the impact of resources.

4. Evaluation and Assessment:

  • Monitor Program Effectiveness: Regularly assess the effectiveness of the educational programs through feedback from participants, instructors, and other stakeholders. Analyze data to determine areas for improvement.
  • Conduct Evaluations: Implement evaluation tools (e.g., surveys, assessments, focus groups) to gather feedback and measure program outcomes, student progress, and overall satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use data from assessments and evaluations to recommend adjustments to the curriculum, delivery methods, and resources to improve the quality and impact of the programs.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as administrators, educators, students, and parents, to ensure the program meets the needs of all involved.
  • Liaise with External Partners: Coordinate with other educational institutions, vendors, and community organizations to enhance program offerings and create partnership opportunities.
  • Report to Leadership: Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on the progress of the programs, budget status, and outcomes. Present recommendations for program enhancements.

6. Compliance and Accreditation:

  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure that educational programs comply with relevant regulations, accreditation requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Pursue Accreditation: Work with accrediting bodies to ensure programs meet accreditation standards and are eligible for certifications or credits when applicable.
  • Maintain Standards: Continuously monitor and uphold the quality and integrity of educational programs to meet established standards.

7. Marketing and Outreach:

  • Promote Programs: Develop marketing strategies to promote educational programs, reaching target audiences through various channels such as social media, email, and community outreach.
  • Engage Participants: Cultivate relationships with prospective students, participants, and stakeholders to generate interest and encourage participation in programs.
  • Recruitment: Oversee the recruitment process for students, ensuring that the program attracts and retains high-quality participants.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Education or a relevant area is often preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in program management or education, with a focus on educational program development, coordination, or leadership. Experience in budget management and staff supervision is often required.
  • Certifications: Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or similar credentials may be beneficial for program management roles.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), educational software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with data analysis tools and evaluation methods is also helpful.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Primarily office-based, but may involve time spent in classrooms, training rooms, or other program locations depending on the nature of the program.
