Assistant Director of Academics
Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Academics is a senior leadership role responsible for supporting the Director of Academics in the overall management and administration of academic programs. The Assistant Director will assist in developing and implementing academic policies, managing curriculum development, and ensuring academic quality and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Policy and Planning
1. Assist in developing and implementing academic policies and procedures.
2. Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement strategic plans for academic programs.
3. Analyze academic data and trends to inform policy and planning decisions.
Curriculum Development and Management
1. Oversee the development and implementation of new academic programs and courses.
2. Manage the curriculum review and revision process.
3. Ensure that academic programs meet accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Academic Quality and Excellence
1. Monitor and evaluate academic programs to ensure quality and excellence.
2. Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement assessment plans.
3. Analyze assessment data to inform academic decision-making.
Faculty Support and Development
1. Provide support and guidance to faculty on academic matters.
2. Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement faculty development programs.
3. Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new faculty members.
Communication and Collaboration
1. Communicate academic policies and procedures to faculty, staff, and students.
2. Collaborate with other departments and units to support academic programs.
3. Represent the institution at academic conferences and events.
Requirements:
1. Master’s Degree in Education or Related Field: A master’s degree in education or a related field.
2. Experience in Academic Administration: Significant experience in academic administration, including experience in curriculum development, academic policy, and faculty support.
3. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Doctoral Degree in Education or Related Field: A doctoral degree in education or a related field.
2. Experience with Accreditation: Experience with accreditation processes and procedures.
3. Experience with Academic Assessment: Experience with academic assessment and evaluation.
4. Bilingual or Multilingual: Ability to communicate in multiple languages.
