Clinical Nursing Instructor
Job Summary:
The Clinical Nursing Instructor teaches and guides nursing students in clinical settings, providing instruction and supervision to help students develop nursing skills and apply theoretical knowledge in real-world situations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Instruction: Teach and supervise nursing students in clinical settings, such as hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.
2. Student Evaluation: Evaluate student performance in clinical settings, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their nursing skills.
3. Curriculum Development: Participate in the development and revision of nursing curriculum, ensuring that clinical instruction aligns with program goals and objectives.
4. Clinical Coordination: Coordinate clinical experiences for nursing students, including arranging clinical placements and ensuring that students meet clinical requirements.
5. Mentoring: Mentor nursing students, providing guidance and support to help them develop professionally and personally.
Requirements:
1. Education: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field.
2. Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where the institution is located.
3. Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in nursing, preferably in a teaching hospital or academic setting.
4. Teaching Experience: Experience teaching nursing students in clinical settings, preferably in an academic institution.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certification: Certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE) or related certification.
2. Doctoral Degree: Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP) or related field.
3. Leadership Experience: Experience in leadership roles, such as charge nurse or nurse manager.
4. Research Experience: Experience in conducting research or publishing scholarly articles in nursing education.
