Senior Educational Counselor
Job Summary:
The Senior Educational Counselor plays a vital role in guiding and supporting students in their academic and personal development. They are responsible for providing high-level academic counseling, career advice, and social-emotional support to students, collaborating with educational staff, and offering leadership within the counseling department.
Key Responsibilities:

Academic Counseling:

Provide expert academic advising and counseling to students at various grade levels.

Develop personalized educational plans to help students achieve their academic goals and aspirations.

Monitor and assess students’ academic progress, providing interventions when necessary.

Guide students in course selection, study strategies, and time management.

Career Guidance:

Assist students in exploring and selecting career paths based on their interests, strengths, and goals.

Coordinate internship opportunities, job shadowing, and career fairs.

Provide guidance on post-secondary options, including college admissions, vocational programs, and scholarships.

Offer counseling and support for students dealing with personal, social, or emotional challenges.

Refer students to appropriate mental health professionals when needed.

Organize and conduct workshops for students, parents, and staff on topics related to academic success, career planning, mental health, and life skills.

Record Keeping and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including academic progress, counseling sessions, and referrals.

Prepare reports on counseling services and student outcomes for school administrators and other stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

A Master’s degree in School Counseling, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
