Assistant Professor of English
Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor of English will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in English language and literature, conduct research in their area of specialization, and contribute to departmental and university service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in English language and literature, including courses in composition, literature, and language studies.
2. Research: Conduct research in English language and literature, including publishing scholarly articles and books.
3. Service: Engage in departmental and university service, including advising students, serving on committees, and participating in professional organizations.
4. Curriculum Development: Develop and revise curriculum to ensure that courses and programs are relevant, innovative, and meet the needs of students and the field.
5. Student Mentoring: Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and academic pursuits.
Requirements:
1. Education: Ph.D. in English language and literature or a related field.
2. Teaching Experience: Experience teaching English language and literature at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
3. Research Experience: Experience conducting research in English language and literature, including publishing scholarly articles and books.
4. Language Skills: Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Postdoctoral Experience: Postdoctoral research experience in English language and literature.
2. Experience with Language Instruction: Experience with language instruction and curriculum development.
3. Knowledge of Literary Theories: Knowledge of literary theories and critical approaches.
4. Leadership Experience: Experience leading research teams or projects.
