Director of Sports
Job Summary:
The Director of Sports will oversee the development, implementation, and management of sports programs, including athletic teams, fitness programs, and sports facilities. The Director will provide leadership and strategic guidance to sports staff, and work closely with coaches, athletes, and other stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for sports programs, including goals, objectives, and budgets.
2. Program Development: Develop and manage sports programs, including athletic teams, fitness programs, and sports facilities.
3. Coaching and Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and manage coaches and sports staff.
4. Athlete Development: Oversee athlete development programs, including training, conditioning, and mentorship.
5. Facility Management: Oversee the management of sports facilities, including maintenance, scheduling, and operations.
6. Marketing and Promotion: Develop and implement marketing and promotion plans for sports programs.
7. Budgeting and Finance: Develop and manage budgets for sports programs, including financial planning and reporting.
Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Experience: Significant experience in sports management, coaching, or a related field.
3. Certification: Certification in sports management, coaching, or a related field (e.g. NCAA certification).
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree: Master’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Experience with Athletic Teams: Experience working with athletic teams, including coaching, managing, or administering teams.
3. Experience with Sports Facilities: Experience managing sports facilities, including maintenance, scheduling, and operations.
4. Experience with Marketing and Promotion: Experience with marketing and promotion, including social media, advertising, and public relations.
