Lab Instructor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Lab Instructor to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading laboratory sessions, assisting with course instruction, and providing hands-on guidance to students in a variety of scientific disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead laboratory sessions, including:
– Preparing and setting up equipment and materials.
– Conducting experiments and demonstrations.
– Assisting students with lab work and projects.
– Assist with course instruction, including:
– Preparing and grading lab reports and assignments.
– Providing feedback and guidance to students.
– Collaborating with faculty members to develop curriculum and lab materials.
– Provide hands-on guidance to students, including:
– Assisting with lab techniques and procedures.
– Troubleshooting equipment and resolving technical issues.
– Encouraging student participation and engagement.
– Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment, including:
– Ensuring safety protocols are followed.
– Maintaining accurate records and inventory.
– Ordering supplies and materials as needed.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. biology, chemistry, physics).
– 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting or teaching experience.
– Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
– Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
– Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
– Certification in a relevant field (e.g. laboratory safety, teaching).
