Senior Lecturer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Senior Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service activities in their area of expertise. They will provide leadership and mentorship to junior faculty members and contribute to the development of the department’s academic programs.
Key Responsibilities:
– Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of expertise, including:
– Developing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and seminars.
– Preparing and grading assignments and exams.
– Providing feedback and guidance to students.
– Conduct research and scholarly activities, including:
– Publishing research papers and articles.
– Presenting at conferences and workshops.
– Securing research funding and grants.
– Contribute to the development of the department’s academic programs, including:
– Participating in curriculum development and review.
– Developing new courses and programs.
– Evaluating and improving existing programs.
– Provide leadership and mentorship to junior faculty members, including:
– Guiding and advising junior faculty members.
– Providing feedback and evaluation.
– Contributing to the development of junior faculty members’ research and teaching skills.
– Participate in departmental and university service, including:
– Serving on departmental and university committees.
– Participating in academic events and activities.
– Contributing to the development of the university’s strategic plans and policies.
Requirements:
– Ph.D. in their area of expertise.
– 5+ years of teaching experience at the university level.
– Strong research and publication record.
– Excellent teaching and communication skills.
– Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation.
– Familiarity with online and blended learning environments.
– Experience with research funding and grant writing.
– Leadership and administrative experience.
