Assistant Professor Computer Science
Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor in Computer Science will contribute to the department’s teaching, research, and service activities. This includes delivering high-quality instruction at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, conducting impactful research in the field, supervising student projects, and participating in departmental and university service.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach and develop core and elective courses in computer science, such as programming, algorithms, data structures, artificial intelligence, machine learning, databases, software engineering, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.

Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and theses.

Conduct independent and collaborative research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Seek external research funding through grants and industry collaborations.

Contribute to curriculum design, academic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Engage in academic advising, mentoring, and student development activities.

Participate in departmental, institutional, and professional service roles, including committees and community outreach.

Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in computer science and integrate them into teaching and research.
Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field (or near completion).

Strong record or potential for excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly publications.

Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and relevant software tools.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and innovation in education.
Preferred Qualifications:

Postdoctoral experience or previous university-level teaching experience.

A track record of published research in reputable journals or conferences.

Experience with online/digital learning platforms and blended learning techniques.

Familiarity with accreditation standards (e.g., ABET, NAAC).

Industry experience or collaborative projects with tech organizations.
