Lecturer – Petrochemical Engineering
Job Summary:
The Lecturer in Petrochemical Engineering is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, academic mentoring, and research within the field of petrochemical and process engineering. The role involves developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervising student projects, engaging in scholarly research, and contributing to the academic and professional growth of the School of Chemical and Materials Engineering (SCME).
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver lectures, tutorials, and lab sessions in core areas of petrochemical engineering such as petroleum refining, process design, thermodynamics, reaction engineering, and plant safety.

Design and update curriculum content to reflect current industry practices and technological advancements.

Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, theses, and dissertations.

Conduct original research in petrochemical or related fields and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.

Apply for research funding and collaborate with industry and academic partners on projects.

Provide academic advising and mentoring to students.

Contribute to departmental administrative duties, quality assurance processes, and curriculum development.

Engage in professional development activities and participate in academic conferences and seminars.
Qualifications:

PhD in Petrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field (Master’s degree with significant industrial or academic experience may be considered).

Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level is preferred.

Strong background in petrochemical processes, refinery systems, and related engineering principles.

Evidence of research activity or professional practice in the field.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
