Academic Administrator

Job Summary:

An Academic Administrator is a senior-level professional responsible for managing the academic programs, policies, and operations of a university, college, or academic department. They provide leadership, guidance, and support to faculty, staff, and students to ensure academic excellence, innovation, and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership
1. Provide strategic leadership for academic programs, policies, and initiatives.
2. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement academic plans.
3. Foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and student-centeredness.

Academic Program Management
1. Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs.
2. Ensure academic programs meet accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
3. Manage program budgets, resources, and personnel.

Faculty and Staff Management
1. Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff performance.
2. Provide professional development opportunities to enhance faculty and staff skills.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

Student Affairs
1. Develop and implement student success initiatives to enhance student retention, progression, and graduation.
2. Collaborate with student affairs professionals to provide student support services.
3. Ensure student concerns and issues are addressed promptly and effectively.

Budget and Resource Management
1. Manage academic budgets, resources, and personnel to ensure effective and efficient operations.
2. Allocate resources to support academic priorities and initiatives.
3. Ensure compliance with institutional financial policies and procedures.

Requirements:

1. Master’s Degree: A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., higher education administration, education policy).
2. Academic Administration Experience: Significant experience in academic administration, including leadership, management, and supervision.
3. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
4. Strategic Thinking and Planning: Ability to think strategically and plan for academic excellence and innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Doctoral Degree: A doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., higher education administration, education policy).
2. Academic Experience: Experience as a faculty member or academic professional.
3. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Experience promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic settings.
